Expired Childrens Sewing Class

Designed for children age 8 and up that would like to learn to sew or improve on their current skills! No prior experience necessary!

This is an In this 8 week after-school program for children age 8 and up.

Sewing has so many benefits to young people. Sewing skills include measuring, fractions, geometry, problem solving and gain self confidence as they complete projects. Sewing is also a wonderful creative outlet!

All materials included.

Projects include:

  • Hot/cold pack
  • Scrunchie
  • Lanyard
  • Chapstick holder
  • Notebook cover
  • Fleece hat
  • Zipper pouch
  • Drawstring backpack

They will learn:

  • Threading the machine
  • Cutting fabric
  • Pinning
  • Control of the fabric in the sewing machine
  • Keeping an accurate seam allowance
  • Putting in a zipper
  • Sewing with different kinds of fabric

The class will meet the following Tuesdays from 4:00 to 5:30.
