Hello and thank you for taking the time to check out The Sewing Studio. My name is Rebekah (Becky) and I am the owner of this new venture. I have been teaching sewing locally for the past 17 years so this is not new. What is new is renting a store front and teaching sewing more than one night a week.
It’s hard to think about but I have been sewing for more than 30 years! I have been in the trade for the past 20 years, starting with custom window treatments and home goods, which morphed into clothing, alterations etc. All of that led me to sewing on a very large scale in the trade show industry. Teaching has been the most rewarding part of my sewing career.
Sewing has been my creative outlet and a social activity introducing me to others who share this interest. I am passionate about sewing and want to share that with others.
I plan on teaching and working with students of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced. We will have multiple sewing stations, cutting tables, forms and all of the materials needed to learn and complete projects.
The shop will also offer weekend workshops of one or two days to allow us to create more interesting projects.
This is has been a dream of mine for years and I am very excited to share it with the community.
